Biography

Excellence in voice training

Riley is an actor, singer, and teaching artist originally from Seattle. After earning his MFA in Acting at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, he relocated to London permanently in 2021. As an actor, Riley has performed onstage at multiple award-winning American theatres such as Seattle Repertory Theatre, Intiman, Theatre @ Boston Court (where he originated the role of “Jason” in the world premiere production of Stefanie Zadravec’s Colony Collapse in 2016), and South Coast Repertory.

Notable onscreen credits include: Sgt. Mike Boccuzzi in Masters of the Air on Apple TV+ (produced by Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg), Kurt in the feature film Lee (starring Kate Winslet), Drew Jones in The Pitt on HBO, Derek Mitchell in the Netflix feature film The Union (starring Mark Wahlberg and Halle Berry), Tim in I Ship It on CW, Agent Dag Barty in Citadel on Amazon prime, and Michael in the award-winning short film The Gift (directed by Mardig Sheridan). Other credits include: Criminal Minds (CBS), The Catch (ABC), Z Nation (SyFy).

Riley is known for his full-body, interdisciplinary approach to voice studies. He was mentored in the Linklater Voice Method by Kimberly White in Seattle and master teacher Fran Bennett in Los Angeles between 2010-2019 and has also trained in The Art of Screaming with legendary Seattle voice teacher Susan M. Carr, vocal coach to many Grammy-nominated bands and artists such as Alice in Chains, The Head & The Heart, Alien Ant Farm, Macklemore, Mastodon, and Minus The Bear.

As a martial arts practitioner with over 10 years of experience, Riley has pioneered a series of voice and movement workshops that integrate martial arts techniques with traditional voice practice, offering students a new level of vocal power and confidence.”
